This altar rug is woven with hand spun wool, cotton and silk. The red and earthen tones are to cast a spell of rootedness, while the red threads may represent the ancient mother line or the protective fires that keep our love and care for the world alight.
All of our handwoven works are made at home, and contain the spirit of human-craft which has quirks and irregularities, adding to the integrity of each piece.
